David is an internationally recognised leader in asset accounting and asset management. He is a Fellow of CPA Australia and in 2001 was named the National Public Sector CPA of the Year. Some of his career highlights include:

• Member of the AASB Special Project for ‘Fair Value in the Public Sector’

• Author of CPA Australia’s guides (International and AASB) to the valuation and depreciation of public sector assets

• Member of the international reference group for 2023 update of the IPWEA International Infrastructure Financial Management Manual

• CPA Australia’s representative on and convener for six years of the Asset Institutes Special Interest Group (SIG) – Public Sector Assets Collaborative Group

• Development and implementation of asset accounting and asset management frameworks for the Governments of Vanuatu, Fiji and Cambodia.

• Independent member of the audit committee for the Torres Strait Island Regional Council

David provides expert technical accounting and audit advice and assists clients with valuation and depreciation reviews as well as Asset Valuer Pro implementations.

Prior to joining APV in 2006 he spent over 20 years with the Queensland Audit Office where he was responsible for the local government and water sectors, management of the contract auditors and Chair of the Asset Valuation and Audit Advisory Group.
