Asset accounting
Effective, relevant and accurate asset accounting demands much more than a good head for figures.
At APV, we offer expert knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and the skills of a highly experienced team, including our director, David Edgerton.
David was named 2001 National Public Sector CPA of the Year for his contribution to the financial and asset management of the local government sector. Before joining APV, he worked with the Queensland Audit Office and he regularly provides national asset accounting programs for CPA Australia and other professional bodies. He has also provided significant content for a range of national programs and guides.
While this expertise is crucial, we take it a step further. We actively work with clients to make the process more logical and valuable for them. For example, we have developed a range of decision trees to make the nuances of the accounting standards clear and relevant, particularly as they relate to valuation, depreciation and amortisation.
We are also at the forefront of developing new valuation and depreciation methodologies to provide greater flexibility and access to effective, industry-leading techniques.
APV’s asset accounting services include:
- developing valuation and depreciation methodologies
- reviewing existing methodologies
- providing asset accounting workshops and training
- providing asset accounting and policy advice
- developing technical papers and guidelines
- liaising with auditors
