Independent schools are facing increasing expectations from auditors, insurers, boards and regulators regarding the quality, completeness and reliability of asset information.

In partnership with Independent Schools Queensland (ISQ), APV Valuers & Asset Management is offering a sector-specific Asset Management Maturity Assessment to support schools in strengthening their asset data, planning and governance.

This assessment provides a clear, practical understanding of your current asset management capability, along with guidance to support improved compliance, long-term planning and strategic decision-making.

What this assessment covers

The assessment provides a structured review of how effectively your school manages its physical assets, including:

  • Asset data quality and completeness

  • Lifecycle planning and renewal forecasting

  • Maintenance and condition assessment practices

  • Risk and compliance processes

  • Capital planning and financial sustainability

  • Alignment with ISO 55000 principles

  • Systems, reporting and data capability

This Expression of Interest should be completed by a member of your leadership team, such as:

  • Principal

  • Business Manager / CFO

  • Facilities or Property Manager

Information required

To support the assessment, we will request high-level information such as:

  • Basic school profile (enrolment, campuses, facilities)

  • Existing asset information (if available)

  • Maintenance and capital planning practices

  • Systems, policies and processes currently in place

You are not expected to have complete or perfect data — the purpose of this assessment is to understand your current position and identify a practical path forward.
